The CA-IS3115AW is a family of complete isolated DC-DCconverters with up to 5kVRMS isolation rating. These devices integrate most of the components needed for anisolated power supply —switching controller, powerswitches, transformer, soft-start, protection circuit etc. —into a single, compact SOIC package. The result is anefficient and compact fully integrated solution that is easyto comply with EMI requirements and makes power-supplyisolation design as easy as possible. Operating over aninput voltage range of 4.5V to 5.5V, the CA-IS3115AWdevices provide a fixed output voltage of 3.3V, 3.7V, 5V or5.4V set by pin SEL. 3.7V and 5.4V output options provideheadroom voltage to power an LDO. Only output, inputbypass capacitors, and a pull-up resistor for 3.7V or 5.4Voutputs are needed to finish the design.

The CA-IS3115AW devices feature a unique control scheme,which can quickly respond to load transient and accuratelyregulate the output voltage. The devices are capable ofdelivering a load up to 1.5W output power and offeringsoft-start, current limit, short-circuit protection andthermal shutdown protection features to better enhancethe reliability of the system. The CA-IS3115AW devicesinclude an enable input pin (EN). Connect the EN pin to theVINP input voltage or force this pin high to turn on the DCDC converter. Force this pin low to disable the device andenter shutdown mode. In shutdown mode, the devicestops switching operation with microampere standbysupply current.

The CA-IS3115AW devices are available in wide-bodySOIC16 package with creepage and clearance > 8mm, andoperate over -40°C to +125°C temperature range.
